# Kiteworks Agent Marketplace

The Agent Marketplace is a catalog of ready-made, policy-governed agents that work on the files already in your Kiteworks. Agents run through the Kiteworks MCP Server under the signed-in user's own account, permissions, and audit trail — they can't see or do more than that user can.

> Every agent requires the Kiteworks MCP Server. The marketplace ships prompts and tool scopes — the actual file, folder, form, and search operations are executed by Kiteworks MCP. Set the connector up once ([Installation & Setup](mcp-installation-setup.html)), and every agent you install after that uses the same OAuth 2.1 session, access policies, and audit trail. Agents marked `native-mcp` are built into the server and need nothing installed at all.

## How it works

Three steps from a fresh Kiteworks instance to a working agent.

1. **Add the connector once.** Connect Kiteworks MCP to Claude — web, Desktop, or Claude Code. One OAuth 2.1 authorization covers every agent.
2. **Install what you want.** Add the whole marketplace or a single agent. Native MCP capabilities need nothing installed.
3. **Just ask.** Agents run as you, inside your permissions and audit. Each agent declares its tool scope up front.

## Two kinds of agent

Some capabilities are part of the MCP Server itself. Others are separate agents you add to your assistant. Both run against the same governed endpoint.

Capabilities the server exposes directly as tools. No install step — once the connector is configured they are available in the session. Examples: Form Builder, Content Saver.

## Governance

Marketplace agents inherit the MCP Server's security model — nothing about an agent widens what a user can reach.

| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Runs as the user | Every call carries the signed-in user's OAuth 2.1 token. An agent can't read or write anything that user couldn't. |
| ABAC and RBAC | The Kiteworks Data Policy engine and the user permission model both apply to agent-initiated actions. |
| Declared tool scope | Each catalog entry lists the MCP tools it calls and its safety grade before you install it. |
| Tamper-evident audit | Agent operations are logged like any other Kiteworks activity, with TLS 1.3 in transit and FIPS 140-3 algorithms when enabled. |
